Two additional candidates are running who have excellent qualifications. James Gordon and Mark Jackson can bring a wealth of experience to the board. It is certainly helpful at times, to have fire service background, but a fire board's purpose is to provide policy and direction for the district. We are not there to run the day to day operations as Mr. Francl's rhetoric seems to imply.

I wish to emphasize that I am writing this as a member of the fire board and not on behalf of the board. I would encourage anyone and everyone who wishes to challenge any of (my) statements to attend one of our meetings at 1400, 2nd Wednesday of each month.

When it comes to customer service and public trust, when it comes to spending public funds, I will gladly put Deer Springs Fire District up against any agency in the State of California.
