The City of Escondido is molded by our City Council, who make decisions that affect everyone in not only the city but also the surrounding areas. Each member on the City Council plays a very crucial role in our city whether it is zoning, pensions, housing, recreation funds, development, public safety, or green space. We deserve a City Council that does not put their personal agendas in front of the needs of the residents.

I'm running for Escondido City Council because residents expect their leaders to focus on the basics, bring people together and find solutions, and then implement those solutions.

Creating and promoting the growth and economic strength that will entice new employers to our area and encourage new jobs from existing employers.

Partisan politics have divided our community more than uniting it. We need leaders who deliver, who are honest and problem solvers. I am not bound to a political party and will do what's right for the people of Escondido.

I will work to make government spending more transparent and accountable. Enhancing efficiency, access to local government, and guarding against wasteful spending of your tax dollars. I will work at restoring essential services such as; libraries, public safety, and recreation which will raise the quality of life for Escondido while providing services that the residents deserve and expect. This will in turn attract businesses and create jobs. Residents deserve a representative who listens, not one tied to special interests.

I am knowledgeable about the issues facing the City of Escondido and am not afraid to commit the time and effort to do what's best for Escondido.

Courage, integrity, and independence to protect residents. I'm Nicole Downey and I'd be honored to have your vote.
