Why I want to be the next SWC Board Member

SWC college is the only institution of higher education in the South Bay. The current board has done a great job in restoring normality to the campus and now I want to be a complement to them and push our community college to the next level of academic achievement. As a parent of a college student and high school senior, I know very well how important it is for our students and families to have access to the college or job training programs that meet their needs and fit with the family budget. I served for seven years in the Army as a Finance Specialist. I will ask hard questions and pay close attention to how our tax dollars are used. I am committed to holding administrators accountable. As a school principal, I recognize that our students need options to explore future career opportunities that require skill and technical training or a four-year college degree. I will focus on job training programs for students and working adults that are needed in this region. I will build partnerships with the chamber of commerce, industry, and the health-care sector to inform my decisions.
