Dear Neighbor, Growing up in California public schools, I was fortunate to receive a great education. As a current teacher and former engineer, I believe that all students should receive a quality education that prepares them for success in high school, college and beyond.

My parents taught me that, with education and hard work, anything is possible. We all hold those same dreams for our kids. But right now, only 1 in 3 Escondido students graduate eligible to enroll in the UC and CSU systems. We can do better than 33%. We can set our students up for success after graduation by investing in 21st century skills, partnering closely with parents, teachers, and community members, and demanding results and accountability.

I look forward to hearing from you. I want to know what you believe is working well and what we need to change. Together, we can work towards a stronger Escondido. On November 4th, I hope I can count on your vote.

My Best, Lou
