I was born and raised in Fair Oaks where I graduated from Bella Vista High School. I attended Sierra College where I met my future wife Carolyn Metzker. We have been together for over 26 years. I graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1993 with a BS in Civil Engineering. I moved back to the area, where I got married and began my career as a Civil Engineer. I am an owner of Wood Rodgers Inc., an award winning civil engineering firm doing business in California and Nevada. We started our family and decided to move back to my wife's home town of Auburn to raise our two daughters Annika and Eralise, the third generation Auburnites in our family.

During this time we have tried to instill in our kids the importance of volunteerism and what it means to give back to our community. The best way to do this is by example. Both my wife and I are very active in our community. I have proudly served on the Auburn Planning Commission for seven years, three of these I served as Chairman of the commission. I have also served 7 years on the Historic Design Review Commission with three years as Chair. As a Board Member of the Boys and Girls Club of Placer County and the Chair of the Business Development Committee, I find volunteering for an organization that does so much for the kids of Placer County very rewarding. I also serve as a Board Member of the Auburn Community Cancer Endowment Fund (ACCEF), which is a grass roots group of Auburnites who have raised over $2.5 million for cancer research. Additionally, I volunteer on the City of Auburn's Citizens Interview & Hiring Panel for the Auburn Police Department as well as the Auburn Fire Department.
