Elaine Gennawey's Candidate Statement

By Elaine Gennawey

Candidate for Council Member; City of Laguna Niguel

This information is provided by the candidate
CITY OF LAGUNA NIGUEL MEMBER OF THE CITY COUNCIL ELAINE GENNAWEY AGE: 58 Parks Commissioner/Businesswoman

At the urging of many respected community leaders, I am a candidate for Laguna Niguel City Council. For my many years of service to make Laguna Niguel a better place to live and work, I was honored as Laguna Niguel Citizen of the Year. My husband Ray and I chose Laguna Niguel 30 years ago as the community to raise our children Raymond, Nicole, and Lauren.

I've worked with many of you in volunteer activities, including Parks and Recreation Commission, Laguna Niguel Woman's Club, Rotary, Military Support Committee, Chamber of Commerce, American Legion Auxiliary, Laguna Niguel Historical Society, National Association of Women Business Owners, and Aliso Niguel HS Volunteer.

My endorsements include: Congressman Rohrabacher, Supervisor Bates, Senator Walters, Assemblywoman Harkey, Mayor Lindholm, Mayor Pro-Tem McCloskey, Councilmember Ming, Councilmember Davies, Former Supervisor Wilson, and Former Mayor Capata. As a Financial Advisor, and having earned a BS in Business from California State University Northridge, I have the valuable skills necessary for your City Council: understanding budgets, finance, fiscal responsibility, and planning for the future. My commitment is to continue listening to you and serve the best interests of Laguna Niguel residents. Together we will keep Laguna Niguel one of California's safest cities, financially strong, and a great place to live.
