Stacy Mungo is a dynamic, hard-working individual who has a passion for meaningful work, and is dedicated to bettering communities. Born in Long Beach and a product of Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD), she is not new to the district. Stacy attended Long Beach City College and earned her Bachelors in Political Science from CSU Fullerton and her Master's in Public Administration from the University of Southern California.

Her background is diverse: working for local and state governments, successfully growing private companies, leading local non-profit organizations, and volunteering for community and school associations. Stacy began her professional career working for the YMCA of Greater Long Beach in 1997. After completing her Master's Degree, Stacy established her career with the County of Los Angeles where she works as a Budget Officer managing $130 million, primarily focused on seniors and workforce development.

Her County career has allowed her to work for Los Angeles County's Chief Executive Office, the Department of Human Resources and the Department of Animal Care and Control. During her tenure she developed the Countywide Management Mentoring Program where she has served as a Budget Analyst for Rancho Los Amigos Rehabilitation Center, Office of AIDS Policy/Programs and other Public Health operational and special fund budgets in excess of $700 million. As the city liaison to more than 51 cities, and a project manager for the department's effort to revolutionize the way they do business, she helped implement PAWSTATS, a program for accountability in animal service deployment, response time, adoption rates, and animal health.

In 1998-99, Stacy sat on the Long Beach Unified School District Board as a Student Member where she supported maintaining nurses on campuses during tough economic times, and promoted a new program for students who needed extra assistance before moving on to High School.

Stacy has continued to serve her community by leading the El Dorado Park Estates Neighborhood Association as President from 2010-2013, and has partnered with "We Love Long Beach" to share best practices with neighborhood associations across the City. She was recently featured for her innovation in a Long Beach Press Telegram article and in the Long Beach Report for her expansion and partnership with the City to grow the Long Beach Community Concert Series.

In her free time, Stacy enjoys spending it with family, dining out with friends at local Long Beach eateries and exercising with her Rottweiler "Charlie". Stacy also serves as a reserve Deputy Sheriff for the County of Los Angeles.
