KENTFIELD SCHOOL DISTRICT EXPERIENCE

Kentfield School District Board of Trustees
My most relevant and compelling experience is the 4-1/2 years I have spent as a Kentfield School District trustee. During this time I have developed a complete and thorough understanding of the operations of the Kentfield School District. In addition, I have developed strong working relationships with my fellow board members, all district administrators, teachers and parents. Some highlights include:

Kentfield School District Finance Committee
I have actively worked on the KSD budget cycle every year for the past 7 years -- 4 years as a trustee and 3 years before joining the board.

Trustee Representative to the Joint Legislative Advisory Committee (JLAC)
This county-wide committee lobbies our state and federal legislators on behalf of Marin schools

Trustee Representative for KSD/Kentfield Teachers' Association (KTA) contract negotiations
I am proud of the fact that both teachers and administrators in our district uniformly put the needs and interests of our students first.

Trustee Representative to Classroom Space Task Force

Kentfield Schools Foundation/kik Executive Board
Immediately before joining the Board of Trustees, I served on the KSF/kik board for 4 years, 3 of those years as Treasurer of the Executive Board.

KSD Strategic Planning
In the fall of 2006, the Kentfield School District began developing a strategic plan to help guide our district. I was invited to be part of the initial taskforce that developed the original strategic plan in 2006, and I have participated in all six annual review and update sessions since then.

Measure A Parcel Tax Committee
In 2008 I served as Treasurer of the executive committee working for the passage of Measure A, the district's current parcel tax.
