My Official Campaign Statement

By Sheri L. Mowbray

Candidate for Board Member; Tamalpais Union High School District

This information is provided by the candidate
I am a graduate of UCLA and a successful local business owner who also brings six years of public school governance experience and a demonstrated passion for excellence in public education to the Tamalpais Union High School District Board. I have served in every trustee role on the Larkspur-Corte Madera school board, including the past two years as Board President.

My top priority will be to keep the focus on the students, ensuring that each student at each of our schools receives what they need in order to learn and thrive. I believe in teamwork and collaborative decision-making that benefit our students. And, I strongly believe that listening to and communicating with all constituent groups is critical to our success.

All students must be challenged to grow and to learn, to excel both academically and emotionally. High standards are crucial to continuing TUHSD's tradition of excellence, amidst an environment that must continually improve and adapt with our rapidly changing times. Forward thinking and frequent adaptation of curriculum are necessary in order for our schools to give students the skills that the workplace of today and the future require.

As one of two candidates with children currently enrolled in TUHSD schools, I believe strongly that a balanced school board must include parents. I hope that voters will give special to consideration to those of us running who are also current parents in the district.

I greatly enjoy serving the community and thank you in advance for supporting my candidacy.
