STATEMENT OF CANDIDATE FOR BOARD OF TRUSTEES TAMALPAIS UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT

LAURA ANDERSON

Occupation: Parent

Education and Qualifications:

I am r u nning for the TUHSD School Board because I am passionate about public education . I believe that it's valuable for Board members to have children enrolled in the District to fully understand the learning environment.

I have lived in Larkspur for 10 years with my hus band and three children, all of whom attended public schools. Our son gradu ated from Redwood last year, our two daughters currently attend . Their unique academic experiences have given me a broad perspective on the varied challenges confronting today's students.

As Co
- chair of the successful 2011 TUHSD parcel tax renewal campaign , I was honored to serve in a crucial leadership role for the District. Other leadership roles I have undertaken include Redwood Foundation Board member, Neil Cummins PTA President, and Hall PTA Board member. My educational and professional background i nclude s a BA in Economics from Carleton College, and 7 years of experience as Project Manager in private institutions.

I am committed to implementing the mission of the District in a thoughtful, fair, and fiscally responsible manner, and ensuring that all stakeholders have a voice in this important process.
