Working for a Better Calabasas

As our City Councilman, David is a passionate advocate for our community and a tireless leader for maintaining our unique quality of life. Since being appointed in January of 2012, David has championed fiscal stability and budget transparency to preserve public services including public safety, parks and libraries. He is heading up a Senior Task Force to identify ways the City can do more to enhance the quality of life for our seniors.

A History of Community Involvement

As a former chairman of the City's Recreation and Parks Commission, David led efforts to build and maintain Grape Arbour, Wild Walnut and Gates Canyon parks as well as the completion of the joint use agreements between the city and the school district to utilize sports fields on weekends for youth sports. Over the years, he has coached more than 100 youth soccer, baseball and basketball teams in local leagues as well as helping to organize a special needs basketball team for Calabasas families.

David served on the Civic Center Advisory Committee and played a leading role in planning the construction of our City Hall and Library. He also served on the Library Commission, assisting in the popular design of the new library and protecting the library's budget.

David has also served on the boards of directors of the Calabasas Park Homeowners Association and the Agoura Hills Calabasas Community Center. In addition, he is very active with the local Teen Court program, volunteering as a judge. He was a founding member of the Kiwanis Club and worked to revitalize the Key Club at Calabasas HS. David is an active member of the Calabasas Chamber of Commerce. In recognition of his man years of volunteering and civic leadership, David was named to the City's prestigious Wall of Honor in 2006.

Committed To Helping Those In Need

A practicing attorney, David has taken on dozens of large corporate interests, including insurance companies, advocating for those who have been ignored or bullied by a system that often overlooks the rights of vulnerable people. David's career as a lawyer has been to help those in need.

Locally Educated

David graduated from UCLA and earned his law degree from University of San Diego. He and his wife, Barbara, are proud parents of three children, all of whom have attended public schools in Calabasas. They are members of Shomrei Torah Synagogue and are patrons of the arts as well as boosters of our local youth sports leagues.
