Council Member; City of Los Angeles; District 7

The interest of the citizens of the 7th District and of the City will come above the special interest of all others.

Twenty-six years of experience working within and for the benefit of communities throughout Los Angeles

Experience in community development, mentoring, consulting, fundraising, professional and educational recruiting, has afforded Nicole the opportunity to understand our communities from a unique perspective. With this diverse set of skills and expertise, Nicole seeks to become the Council-member for the 7th district of the City of Los Angeles.

Nicole makes it clear that the 7th District is her community. She learned to swim at the local city parks, learned to ride horses at Hansen Dam, organized community nature walks and participated in local sport teams, from Sylmar to Verdugo Hills. She walked daily from her elementary school to the Boys & Girls Club, used public transportation to & from high school and community events. She knows her home district, the 7th District.

Raised in the San Fernando Valley, Nicole attended Mary Immaculate Elementary School in Pacoima and Our Lady of Corvallis High School in Studio City. She received her bachelor's degree in Industrial Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley.

Currently, Nicole is the Development and Marketing Director for the Boys & Girls Club of San Fernando Valley; where she focuses on raising funds to support the Club's million dollar annual operating budget for more than 2000 underserved youth and families annually. She is active in motivational teen programs that bring emotional literacy and emotional healthiness to teens, which has helped young people, who have dropped out of school to return. She mentored, recruited and worked with teens and young adults, building up their skills and strengths in preparation for college and careers.

Nicole's community service is grounded in a strong understanding of the local and statewide political system, having served as a representative for Los Angeles City Councilmember Richard Alarcon and former State Senator David Roberti. In these roles, she served as a community liaison, addressing constituent concerns, organized community events and executed projects initiated by the elected official. Most recently, she was honored to be appointed to the Los Angeles County Library Commission by Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky and appointed to the Valley Regional volunteer Neighborhood Oversight Committee for Proposition K: L.A. for Kids Program by Councilmember Alarcon.

Nicole has been involved in major community and citywide endeavors, including Los Angeles Business Expos, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. As an Expo Director for seventeen years, Nicole produced the West Coast Music Festival, the Teen Leadership & Entrepreneurial Summit (which served thousands of teens).

Nicole's leadership is needed now........She stands for and believes in Accountability and Accessibility. Most importantly, Nicole say's "It is time to put the voice and vision of the community back into the driver's seat".
