Position Paper: Why I'm running for re-election 2012


"I'm running for re-election because I care about Port Hueneme and believe I can continue making a difference. I'm an advocate for a balanced approach to local government, committed to quality of life issues and focused on finding solutions with less revenue. Port Hueneme needs my common sense approach, solid business experience and uncompromised leadership. I am committed to infrastructure investment, a local police force, community-based input, encouraging job retention/creation and supporting our military. Residents need an experienced councilmember, and I ask that you re-elect me to keep the positive momentum going at City Hall."


Port Hueneme City Councilmember since 2008; Mayor -2010/11; Mayor Pro Tem -2009/10. MBA, CLU and BS in Business Administration, CSUN.


Board member: Economic Development Collaborative of Ventura County (EDC-VC); Ventura County Council of Governments (VCOG); California Joint Powers in Insurance Agency (CJPIA); St. John's Regional Medical Center; Museum of Ventura County. Former Ventura County Library Services Commissioner. Served on Water Rate, Sandcastle and Audit Committees.

27-year Port Hueneme resident, Oxnard native, entrepreneur, adjunct college professor. Created nationally-acclaimed United Way "Day of Caring" (1989) and spearheaded "Day of Caring Mayor's Project" (2011). Author of upcoming historical fiction, "Abandoned Angels", based on her family's true story of Mexico's Cristero Revolution.
