Candidate for
Council Member; City of Galt

It would be my honor to serve on Galt's City Council. I believe that officials are elected to represent the people they serve. As a city council member, I pledge to be your voice in city government and be responsive to the concerns of the community. I will keep an open mind at all times and remember that your point of view is always valuable. I would like to encourage more community input on local issues by having some type of message board, blog, question of the week or online surveys.

I have lived in Galt for 20 years with my husband and two children. Our family moved to Galt for its small town charm and family-oriented community. I have always been active in my children's school and sports, having served on the PTA and volunteering at their sporting events and fundraisers. I am an active community member participating in the Adopt-A-Street program; Relay for Life; Neighborhood Watch; and committee member for the Independence Day Celebration and National Night Out.

I am employed at Building Material Distributors (BMD), one of Galt's largest employers. I am fortunate because I work and live in Galt. I will work to provide more diverse shopping, dining, entertainment and employment opportunities. We have the means to turn our economy around by our decision-making. I will ensure public safety and our youth programs remain a priority. Working together with the community, local business and city leaders we can meet these needs.

I will ensure your tax dollars are spent responsibly. During these troubled economic times, our city must continue to look for creative and innovative ways to save money, eliminate wasteful spending, reduce the use of outside consultants and increase revenue wherever possible without raising taxes or fees. Our community deserves nothing less. The people of Galt can count on me to spend their money like they do - watching every dollar and to represent them in a way they would appreciate - with honesty and integrity.

I know that with your vote, we can continue to move our community forward to prosper and thrive in today's challenging times.
