Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Kevin Knauss

Candidate for
Member; Placer County Board of Education; Trustee Area 1

This information is provided by the candidate

My world and political view is rooted in a progressive philosophy. While we may have government programs and regulations that work for the majority of citizens, there is always room for change and improvement.

Our communities are always changing and we need to recognize those changes and government should react accordingly. For instance, if there is a growing population of families that want a charter school or support with home schooling, we should look to accommodate them. If there are students and parents that want a more challenging curriculum, we should work with the local school district to see if we can make it a reality.

It is important that we don't discard any idea until its potential is fully explored. While we may not be able to implement the original nugget of inspiration, we may find another avenue that does meet the needs of the students, parents and school districts.
