I'm proud to consider myself a Progressive Democrat, and as such this is what I believe:
- Support equality for all LGBT people
- Support a woman's right to choose
- Support an end to senseless wars
- Oppose the privatization of public resources
- Support an end to corporate personhood
- Support card check and the right to unionize
- Support immigration reform including the DREAM Act
- Support green policies
- Preserve high quality public education
- Oppose the privatization of public schools by charters
- Support universal single-payer healthcare
- Repeal the death penalty
- Separation of church and state
These are my personal beliefs and I will work hard to make them a reality. However, I do understand that not all Democrats entirely share my views--and that's okay. I realize that the Democratic Party is a big tent party. And I want to welcome all Democrats into the party with open arms-- we can certainly disagree and debate, but at the end of the day we need to work together to bring about progress.
