Diane Furst is the Vice Mayor of Corte Madera and a candidate for Marin's District Four Supervisor. Diane is a Bay Area native and a sixth-generation Californian, with family roots dating back to the gold rush.

She grew up in the East Bay town of Orinda and has seen much of the Bay Area undergo extensive growth and expansion onto what used to be farmland and open space. It is her commitment to saving our precious natural open spaces and creating strong economies within our existing communities that motivates Diane to work hard for this district and the county.

During her time on the Corte Madera Town Council, Diane has helped the town achieve a balanced budget after several years of deficit spending, while also redesigning the budget format to be more user-friendly and encourage more community input in fiscal decisions.

Diane has been active on the Transportation Authority of Marin (TAM) Board since she first joined the Corte Madera Town Council, and she serves on the Sustainable Communities Strategy and the Greenbrae Corridor ad-hoc committees. She also worked hard to pass Corte Madera's Measure C paramedic tax last November with a whopping 82% approval rate!

Prior to her work on the Town Council, Diane was very involved in training and organizing the Get Ready and Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) in Corte Madera.

Diane has a bachelor's degree in Economics from San Francisco State University, and she worked for more than thirteen years in accounting and finance. This experience leaves Diane especially well suited to tackle the fiscal and administrative challenges facing our county. She is also an ex-officio director of the Corte Madera Chamber of Commerce, and she serves as a conduit between policymakers and the business community.

Diane, her husband Steve and their daughters Alicia and Stephanie, who attend public school, have made Marin County their home for the past eight years. Diane is excited by the prospect of working at the County level to preserve our beautiful county for future generations.
