Office of Avalon City Council

By Scott D Nelson

Candidate for Member of the City Council; City of Avalon

This information is provided by the candidate
FOR MEMBER OF THE CITY COUNCIL

SCOTT NELSON 58 Occupation: self employed businessman

I have been a resident of Avalon since 1982, married for 32 years to Kelly Nelson and raised two sons on Catalina, Aaron and Adam. I am the owner of Scott's Plumbing since 1981. I have served on Avalon City Council previously from 1994-2000 and 2006-2010.

I have always been known to give everyone a chance to voice their opinions and to make decisions based on the facts. I have fought for many issues when it comes to what is fair for EVERYONE.

I will continue to promote as many events as possible and encourage visitors to enjoy our beautiful island. I still believe in home ownership and will work to provide more opportunities.

I will work towards quieter vehicles, a swimming pool, clean energy such as solar. Encourage businesses to hire and train locals for management. Sports activities for all.

Our city is possibly going to experience financial problems with out infrastructure, the state has taken away our ability to use our housing tax monies for roads, sewers, etc. That falls into our laps as citizens and or our visitors. We have to have strong leadership and clear goals as to how and when these monies are needed for repairs. We all are suffering from this economy right now, I want to bring prosperity back to us, our businesses. I don't believe that government
