Candidate for
Member, City Council; City of Santa Clarita

This information is provided by the candidate

Crime Prevention

  • Support the building of a new police station (this is long overdue)
  • Support the building of a Canyon Country substation
  • Two (2) Operation Safe Street gang detectives
  • Burglary suppression team
  • Two (2) mall deputies
  • Valencia paseo bicycle patrol
  • Ban medical marijuana collectives in Santa Clarita City
  • Every person who is legally detained in the LASD Santa Clarita station jail must pay for food, housing, staffing, etc.
  • Meet with school resource deputies monthly to discuss how to effectively combat drug usage and sales and gang activity involving our children
  • Proactive policing, aggressively combat graffiti, vandalism, gang activity, and arrest and prosecute the drug dealers who are killing our young people!

Education
  • Publicly support our K-12 public schools and College of the Canyons
  • Continue funding for the LASD school resource deputies
  • Work with the LASD to continue funding the "J-Team"

New courthouse
  • Support the building of a new courthouse for Santa Clarita
  • Support the creation of a Santa Clarita judicial district, so we only have to do jury duty right here in our own City and Valley.

Section 8 housing in the City of Santa Clarita
  • Support fraud investigators to make sure our tax dollars are being used appropriately
  • Increase patrols at and near Jake's Way in Canyon Country to help all law abiding citizens and families
  • Ban child molesters in the City of Santa Clarita
  • Ban child molesters from decorating their residence for Halloween. (Do everything within the law to dissuade and prevent child molesters from moving into Santa Clarita City).

Support the Second Amendment
  • Allow law-abiding citizens the right to protect themselves before they are threatened or placed in harm's way.

Promote improvements to Saugus and Canyon Country
  • Instead of spending $93 million in Old Town Newhall, also improve the communities in Canyon Country and Saugus, by building a community center in Canyon Country, building a police sub-station in Canyon Country, and building more parks in Canyon Country and Saugus.
  • Preserve green spaces and parks

Discourage illegal immigration in Santa Clarita City
  • Recommend that Santa Clarita businesses implement an E-Verify system
  • Work with the federal government to get an ICE agent assigned to Santa Clarita City to deal with immigration issues.
  • Make sure the laws on the books are followed in our City

Strongly Oppose Cemex Mines
  • Action, not talk. Vigorously work with our federal representatives to get Cemex Mines moved out once and for all. This should have been done years ago! Clean up the Whittaker-Bermite property Instead of buying the property and trying to make money, CLEAN UP the property.
  • Vigorously work with our federal representatives to get the people responsible and/ or the federal government (EPA) to clean up this property. Our first priority should be to prevent anymore pollution to our water supply, NOT to try and make money on an investment. This should have also been done years ago!

Economic Development
  • Support bringing in a minor league baseball team to Santa Clarita. This would create jobs and bring in much needed tax revenue to our City. Support bringing back the major league golf tournament to our city. This would bring much needed revenue to Santa Clarita.
  • Support the building of a new courthouse. This would also bring jobs to our City.
  • Support the SCV Chamber of Commerce and EDC.
  • Promote and incentivize improvements to Saugus and Canyon Country.
