Candidate for
Member, City Council; City of El Segundo

My name is Mike Dugan and I've lived in El Segundo for over 28 years. I've been married to Marcy for 27 years and together we raised our two sons here. I worked for Chevron for over 31 years before I took an early severance package in 2010. During all of this time I have been actively involved in El Segundo supporting our city, our schools and our youth programs.

I was a Board Member of the Ed Foundation for seven years and I helped it grow from a small group of business and individual supporters to the large community wide support base it has today. Marcy and I continue to support the Ed Foundation by being one of its ongoing charter members of the Superintendents Roundtable. In 2005 I got recruited to help St. Anthony School and I'm currently the Chairman of St. Anthony School Council. I was a member of the City's CIPAC Committee for two terms and I've been a member of Kiwanis for almost 15 years.

I'm running for City Council because I believe that good government requires the right balance of resources and services; of revenues and expenditures. I'm concerned about our ability to maintain these proper balances and the impact that will have on the future of El Segundo.
