Candidate for
Councilmember; City of Westlake Village

Chris Mann was elected to the Westlake Village City Council in 1999, and served as Mayor from December 2002 until December 2003. The youngest person ever to serve the City in these offices, Chris quickly made a name for himself as a principled leader who brought people together.

On the Council and as Mayor Chris was a strong advocate of private property rights. He fought against attempts to raise taxes and fees (such as the vehicle license fee), pushed for increased community services and facilities (such as Foxfield Park), protected open space areas (such as gLot 79) and helped to create Westlakefs gVolunteers in Policingh program. During his time as Mayor, Chris led Westlake to the largest budget reserves in its history, crime was reduced by 20%, a new park was opened, and the City did not raise any fees or taxes.

Chris has a diverse professional background which includes extensive experience in the areas of public relations, real estate, land-use planning and local government service. In 2005, after working for a large public relations firm, Chris founded Mann Communications, a public relations company specializing in land-use entitlement and other consulting services for real estate companies, local government agencies and candidates for political office. Chris has done work for large international and Fortune 500 companies such as the AES Corporation, renewable energy companies such as SolarReserve, taxpayer advocacy organizations such as the Inland Empire Taxpayers Association, and municipalities throughout Southern California.

In October of 2009 Chris became a principal of ADR/Preferred Business Properties, a company with over 30 years of experience in commercial and residential real estate development, brokerage, property management and consulting in Southern California, Arizona and Nevada. As a Principal of ADR Properties Chris manages both the Las Vegas, NV region (ADR Properties Las Vegas) and the Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village, CA branch offices. He oversees property management, brokerage, development, and construction management operations.

Chris holds bachelorfs degrees in Psychology and Political Science from California Lutheran University, and has completed all required coursework for his masterfs degree in Public Policy and Administration (MPPA). He holds real estate licenses in California and Nevada.
