Good Communication with the Public is Essential

By Susan Brooks

Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Rancho Palos Verdes

This information is provided by the candidate
The people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. As we evolve throughout the years, the City should become a leader in good governance regarding interpersonal relations, land management and coordinated school efforts.
Putting Residents First

The voters of Rancho Palos Verdes deserve councilmembers who are advocates for local residents and not just "rubber stamps" for the status quo. As a professional mediator, Susan will bring her unique experience and skills to City Hall to make sure residents are respected and their opinions are heard by the City Council and staff.

Open Space and Land Use

Our city was founded on the idea that local residents need control over the development of their neighborhoods and of the Peninsula. Now that most of the Hill has either been built-out or preserved as public open space, our attention needs to turn to controlling "infill" development and increased density and traffic.

Working Closely with the School District

As a classroom teacher, Susan knows the reality of funding issues and management concerns in our school district. As our new Councilwoman, Susan will ensure that the City and the District work hand in hand to find a common ground and ways to save tax dollars.
