My name is Gerard Boulanger, I am 57, and have been married to Elizabeth for 12 years. I have 3 children. My youngest child plans on attending College this year. I have been a Hercules resident for 16 years. My wife and I moved to "Promenade" in 2003 from the "birds" area where my wife had lived since 1984.

I have been a business owner in Hercules since 1998 and am able to work part-time enabling me to dedicate enough time to the City's affairs. I am running 2 businesses: carpet cleaning/water damage (mostly Commercial), and providing services to help corporations during patent infringement litigation.

I have 12 years of experience as a City Council Member of a city of 85,000+ residents and was reelected twice. I was in charge of business development relationships between the European Commission and PSA (the largest automotive manufacturer in France). My mission was to create a trustworthy environment which led to the construction of the largest automotive plant within our city limits.

Associations: I belong to the Hercules Chamber of Commerce, to the BNI (Business Network International) chapter of Hercules and I am a member of the Rotary Club of Hercules.

My Hobbies: I enjoy listening to classical music, opera and jazz. I like gardening, good food/wine, and photography is one of my favorite things to do.

Do I represent one Community? I'd like to think I represent the community of the concerned citizens of Hercules tired of nepotism, cronyism, back door deals, conflicts of interest, rubber-stamping attitude, lack of leadership, non-discriminating allegiance to a City Mgr., violations of Brown Act, misleading the Citizens, lack of long-term vision, not imposing Form-700 to senior staff, and lack of basic financial competencies.
