Armineh Chelebian For LA City Council District 12 Candidate Statement
Hello, my name is Armineh Chelebian and I joined the race for 2011 Los Angeles City Council in order to bring a true voice and representation in to City Hall. My goal is to help reconnect City Hall back to us, The People. I clearly recognize the urgent need for a change in the direction our beloved city is taking. Remember, direction is the most important aspect of this race; our current elected officials are taking daily steps in the city hall, But, you must ask yourself. Is it in the right direction? A vote for me, Armineh Chelebian is a vote to insure City Hall aims into a positive direction for its citizens. The Status Quo Has Got to Go!

I have resided in the San Fernando Valley for more than thirty years and in my district for over 18 years. So, you can be assured that I am deeply invested and devoted to my community. Here, is where I have attained my higher education, with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration - Accounting from the California State University Northridge. Here, is where I have gained 25 years of successful accounting experience and have started my own accounting practice. Here, is where I have raised two wonderful children who have gone on to attend and graduate from CSUN. Here, is where I have grounded my roots and grown my family tree. So, you can be assured that I am a true member of our community and a supporter of your voice.

I have the proven track record of real life work & experience on my side, as well as the independence of not being indebted to any special interests or pre existing political machinery in order to get the job done and get it done right! Several years ago my concern for the well being of our community, desire to help improve the quality of life, getting our fair share and having our local voices heard, caused me to run for San Fernando Valley's City Council race in 2002 and since then I have not looked back on serving my community. For the past 10 years I have proven my determination, passion and commitment for making a difference, by giving back thousands of volunteer hours to my community, at no cost to the taxpayers, as I have served on the Boards of many local, community, business and political organizations, including serving on the board of my local neighborhood councils as an elected representative for the past 8 years, where I have served the needs of the stakeholders within the community and the neighborhoods effectively.

Being involved as well as campaigning and knocking on thousands of doors within the district has brought to light many of the pressing issues that we face in our city. One thing you can count on is I will be fighting for preserving and improving our quality of life while building and leaving a stronger foundation for our youth and future generations to come. I will fight to bring accountability and fiscal responsibility back to our local government and to help improve delivery of core essential services, improve quality of education in our public schools and improve business and job climate within the city by supporting and sustaining our businesses.

With that said, I am Armineh Chelebian and it would be my honor to have the opportunity to serve and represent you!
