Candidate for Governing Board Member; Cayucos Elementary School District; 4 Year Term

Qualifications:
  • Cayucos Elementary School District (CESD) Board member for the past 6 years, two of those years I was Board President and I am currently the Board Clerk.

  • Only CESD Board Member to completed a 12 month California School Board Association "Masters in Governance" Program with specific focus on Student Achievement, Effective Governance, District Finance, Collective Bargaining, Human Resources, and Governance Team Building Skills.

  • CESD Board President throughout the two year construction period of the new school and assisted in the County Library relocation as part of the construction project.
  • Current volunteer involvement:
4 hours per week as a school board member.
10 hours per week in the school library.
Varying hours per month fund raising for the school.

In my past life, before Cayucos, I was a Public Relations and Governmental Affairs Manager for the So. Calif. Edison Co. While in that capacity I served as President of the Corona Chamber of Commerce with membership of 950 businesses, and later I served as President of the Corona / Norco United Way covering 2 large cities.

If re-elected, I am committed to: ensure responsible spending of your tax dollars, focus on the needs of all of our children, maintain our high performance standards, enhance our school / community relationship and above all, listen to you!
