Auburn Boulevard Upgrade

By Kevin Kidder

Candidate for Council Member; City of Citrus Heights

This information is provided by the candidate
Since I live in the Auburn Oaks Court area, I would like to see the stretch of Auburn Boulevard from the freeway exit at Riverside/Auburn Boulevard to Antelope Road improved and made safer. Adding sidewalks to both sides of the street as needed and dealing with some of the eyesores that are closed businesses would help. Traffic safety issues in this area include stop signs on arterial streets that are hidden by vegetation. Truck parking is also a problem, with idling trucks in parking lots adjacent to the Kmart and Smart and Final at 4:00 a.m. a noise issue. Finally, the repaving of this stretch of Auburn Boulevard would be a big improvement. Auburn Boulevard is one of the primary entrances to Citrus Heights and should mirror the vitality of the city, not look like something out of the 1960s. I do recognize that some of these goals are already encompassed in existing Citrus Heights redevelopment plans.
