It is an honor to serve the Natomas School District as its trustee. I am the Board member fighting for what's right in Natomas, fighting for our kids. Even in the midst of our fiscal crisis, with 27% less funding from the state in the past two years, our children are excelling. With experience to accomplish what is in the best interest of our kids, and the leadership to make it happen, test scores increased 169 points at American Lakes Elementary over the past 7 years, over 80 points district wide, and 76 points at Natomas High School this year alone.

The record on which I run is solid, and I hope I can earn your support.

As a product of public schools, with years of experience as a teaching assistant, and volunteer in our classrooms, I know that parental involvement and dedicated, quality teachers are essential to the success of our children.

Together, we can do better for our children and community. But to do my job, I need you. I want every parent and community member who shares my frustration, and every teacher educating our children to step forward and make Natomas work harder and smarter to meet the needs of our kids.

As your school board member, I am committed to:

• Resolving the challenges in our middle and high schools,
• Pushing for increased school readiness programs like First 5 in our district,
• Increasing pre-school opportunities,
• Demanding safe learning environments,
• Holding the district accountable for the use of our tax dollars, and
• Bringing Witter Ranch's Distinguished School status to all of Natomas schools.
