Experience Counts!

By Linda Budge

Candidate for Council Member; City of Rancho Cordova

This information is provided by the candidate
It is rare for an elected official to have over three decades of experience with local government from both the private sector side as well as from the public sector side.
For over three decades, I've experienced local government in both the public sector and the private sector. As an elected and appointed official, I know how to use government processes to get things done for our City. As an urban planning consultant, I use the same government processes to create success for my clients in dealing with local government. Knowing that there's no difference between customer relations and constituent relations has enabled me to make connections and create consensus on issues that are important to everyone.

It's very important in this election - more than ever before - that local residents chose representatives who have experience and substance; who know what they are talking about. Many people can be encouraged to run for an office based on single issues and grudges. It's important to look at the background of people who are unknown in the community to see what they actually think, what they stand for, and who they are speaking for. Ask: do they speak for an outside organization? Or do they speak for me?
