I have spent 30 years in the business world, including several years as the co-owner of a newspaper company, where I was very involved in knowing the people and operations of schools and other local government entities. My current employment with a publication content syndicate has reinforced my ability to work with people of all political parties, both among creators and the editors and publishers with whom I do business. I am also the mother of a college student, and by helping her prepare for the college application process I learned a lot about college preparation and choices, and the importance of having quality choices in our own area. Along the way, I have also been a classroom volunteer and served on a school task force, as well as being a chaperone for school events. More recently, I have been active in a community organization working on a quality-of-life issue in the Auburn area. In short, I believe I have the skills necessary to work fully in the realm of people and ideas.
