Minimize the impact of cuts on students

By Nadia Sanchez

Candidate for Board Member; Fullerton Joint Union High School District

This information is provided by the candidate
The board should be cognizant of which student groups are not performing before any cuts are considered. As a board member, my first responsibility will be to ensure my fellow board members are acculturated to the needs of the most needed students. In Fullerton, Latinos are nearly 50% of all students, and they are not performing at the same level as their peers. La Sierra and Vista high schools are nearly 80% Latino with almost none graduating with UC/CSU required courses. Any cut considered should be examined under these and similar need-based considerations.
