STATEMENT OF CANDIDATE FOR 3rd DISTRICT SUPERVISOR

HOLLY MADRIGAL

AGE: 33

Occupation: Willits City Councilwoman

Education and Qualifications: "Business as usual" is not working. The fiscal challenges facing our county are unprecedented. I will push for the economic development and jobs that we want. Good jobs at good wages build a sustainable local economy.

I was raised in Willits and have worked fulltime since graduating from UCSC with a degree in Business Management/Economics. I know this district, and its forward-thinking creative character. This crisis could be an opportunity.

In two terms on the Willits City Council, I have prioritized maintaining a city reserve fund for hard times, while securing funding to build the Kids Club, Skate Park and improve our water system. As a councilwoman I stood with our valley ranchers to preserve the Little Lake aquifer.

I helped start the Willits Local First campaign, serve on the board of Willits Economic Localization, and am a proud member of the Little Lake Grange. With these organizations I work on increasing our self-sufficiency with small-scale projects that have big impacts.

I have a record of being accessible to all my constituents. I am proud that my endorsers come from a wide range of community members, with a wide range of viewpoints. I look forward to representing all the residents of Covelo, Laytonville, Brooktrails and our whole county.
