Crack down on corporate crime

By Ann Menasche

Candidate for Secretary of State; Green Party

This information is provided by the candidate
Repeat corporate criminals should lose their right to do business in our state
From Enron to the sub-prime mortgage scandal, to the Toyota recalls, large corporations have defrauded consumers, endangered health and safety, despoiled the environment and violated the law with impunity. THIS MUST BE STOPPED. Big business must be held fully accountable for their actions. As Secretary of State, I crack down on corporate crime by working closely with others in state government:

  • to empower the Attorney General as well as ordinary citizens to take appropriate legal action against corporate offenders;
  • to provide for revocation of corporate charters against repeat offenders. Such corporations should no longer be permitted to do business in this state.
