Biography of Maggie Campbell

Some of the greatest attributes held by Maggie Campbell include applying rigorous energy, experience, and resourcefulness toward issues that are important to her and the communities and organizations she represents with dedication and measured success. She is confident, dedicated, hardworking, and aware of the issues that affect our communities.

Maggie Campbell relocated to California from Memphis, Tennessee while serving on active duty in the United States Navy, preceded by years in the ROTC Program and the Drill Team in high school. She began her career in politics as a volunteer for the Democratic Party Presidential race as a teen under the direction of her mother. She volunteered through the years in California on campaigns of: Mayors, Senators and Congressional races. She performed services as a poll worker and participated in student government in high school and college. In later years, she sought the office of City Council as a `write-in' candidate in the 2004/2005 election, where she received considerable support from the voters and the surrounding communities.

Maggie Campbell earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from San Francisco State University and a Professional Paralegal Certification from the University of California, Berkeley, with a focus on Contract Law, Civil Litigation, Real Estate and Tenancy. Shortly after graduating from both Universities, she embarked upon a successful career as an entrepreneur in the Legal Industry as a Certified Paralegal and Notary Public, where she assisted attorneys and certified paralegal candidates to secure employment. She provided the public with paralegal and legal documentation services as well. She went on to open a real estate and mortgage corporation after earning her licenses as a Real Estate Broker and Mortgage Broker. She employed and trained several Real Estate Agents.

January 10, 2009, Maggie Campbell secured a seat as a Delegate for the California Democratic Party for District 36 for the term 2009 through 2011.

January 23, 2010, Maggie Campbell released a special edition of her 1st book entitled, "Have your say, Vote!" Maggie Campbell takes us on a historical journey through time where she reminds us of the importance of exercising our right to vote. She gives us a glimpse into her childhood and how various political, Democratic and historical moments have changed and shaped her life. Full release is scheduled for the Spring of 2010.

Maggie Campbell is married to Alvin Campbell who is very involved with her campaign. She is a proud mother of one adult daughter, a grandson and a stepmother of 2 young adults and one teen as well as a large extended family.
