I have called San Mateo County my home for over 50 years. My husband, my children, my neighbors, colleagues and you deserve nothing less than a Tax Collector-Treasurer's office that provides the most efficient and effective services possible.

I have worked in this department for the past twenty years. Our investment performance has been strong and consistent. Over the past 10 year period, ending 6/30/09, the County pool has earned $662 million with an average earnings rate of 3.47%. This rate includes the entire write down of the Lehman securities due to the firm declaring bankruptcy. In fact, despite these losses San Mateo's pool has outperformed our benchmark competition, California's Local Area Investment Fund (LAIF) by fifty cents on every dollar as of the quarter ending 12/31/09.

I am the Deputy Tax Collector-Treasurer and the Acting Assistant Tax Collector. I currently manage many of the key requirements of this office such as the administration of our 63 employees; tax billing and collection; banking services for all county departments, school districts and special districts; cashiering for tax, treasury and revenue services; budget development and monitoring and the 71 school district general obligation bonds which have renovated and modernized schools providing more students access to computers and technology.

These are extremely trying economic times that require proven experience, not experimenting. I am the candidate that is already performing the job, can ensure a seamless transition, and can hit the ground running.

No one has the experience and knows the office as I do. I am a professional committed to this department, the County and the taxpayers I have served these past 20 years.
