Countywide Collaboration: The San Luis Obispo Sheriff's Department will be a key resource among local public safety agencies, striving to work in concert and in a spirit of mutual trust and respect as we work to achieve a shared vision by identifying common goals, and sharing resources to the greatest extent possible to achieve the greatest impact in addressing our crime and quality of life issues.

Performance: The San Luis Obispo Sheriff's Department will strive to provide excellence in the delivery of public safety services that is responsive, supportive, efficient, and effective, and fair to all to meet the needs of residents. Consideration of service levels includes balancing services that are mandated, essential or desired with available funding sources

Crime and Community: The residents and guests of San Luis Obispo County enjoy a relaxed, healthy, active, lifestyle that supports a vital, diverse community, open and accessible to all regardless of age, health, economic status or employment.
