I am a lifelong registered member of the Republican Party.

A single father of 6 children, presently engaged to be married to a high school teacher from Murietta.

The 3rd of 4 children born to Dutch immigrant parents, raised on a dairy farm in Bakersfield, California. I presently make my home in the Hidden Meadows community in the hills north of Escondido.

I received my bachelors degree in Engineering from UC Irvine in 1980, working more than half of my career with successful startup companies in San Diego (ThermoScan, Cymer Laser, Gen-Probe Incorporated).

My political pedigree started with activism in father's rights and children's rights. Upon witnessing the corruption in county government (both in my personal case and the cases of others I've advocated for), I've taken a public stand against the current Board's practice of overadministering Federally mandated social programs.

I've been invited to testify at the state capital, before two State Supreme Court Commissions (the California Supreme Court Commission on Impartial Courts and the Elkins Family Law Task Force), and I am a task force member of the California State Dept. of Child Support Enforcement Advocate's Panel.
