Hello Friends, Neighbors and Citizens of Oceanside. My name is Ken Crossman. I would like to introduce myself to you.

I am a retired San Diego County Sheriff's Sergeant with over 33 years of law enforcement experience. My top priority throughout my professional career has been solving problems, ensuring the safety of our community, and making sure that citizens come first.

I am a Vietnam veteran, having served as a navy corpsman (medic) with the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Division. I am astutely aware of the sacrifice service men and women have made for our country and I enthusiastically support the concerns and wellbeing of veterans.

I have been married for 30 years to my lovely wife Sue and have 3 adult children and two grandchildren. I graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1965, attended and graduated from Mira Costa College, and continued my education at Chapman University graduating in 1978 with a Bachelor's Degree. I hold a lifetime teaching credential for the Community College level and have taught at several of our area colleges, including Mira Costa College.

I have been in the public service sector for nearly 40 years and am well aware of the problems that we, as a community, face. I have been president of my community homeowners association for 13 years and have been successful in directing and maintaining one of the most sought after and financially stable HOAs in Oceanside.

I cannot and will not sit idly by and accept the philosophy of "if you can't beat them, join them." Our current city council maintains a divided atmosphere dwelling on personalities rather than the serious issues that face our city. The division has escalated with each side attempting to elect their personal candidate to favorably sway the balance of power in their direction.

My philosophy is simple; I will address the issues on their own merits without obligation to political pressure. First and foremost on my agenda is citizen input and suggestions with decisions based on what is best for you and our community.

I ask for your vote to make my promise and pledge to you happen. I work for you because citizens come first.
