Specific experience: sample of 8 recent jury trials: Gangs, Murder, Domestic Violence:

1. Jesse James Hollywood: Death-penalty homicide case of young teenager taken by group of thugs from Los Angeles. High-profile because of facts and movie and book created about case before resolution. Hollywood convicted of kidnapping and 1st Degree Murder, sentenced by jury to LWOP.

2. Evangelista: Murder of ex-girlfriend. Convicted of special circ murder and kidnapping

3. Joshua Miracle: 3 defendant grand jury indictment on special circ murder for gang. Miracle convicted and sentenced to death. Others awaiting disposition

4. Sotelo: gang attempted murder, aggravated mayhem, strikes. Convicted all counts sentenced 67 years-to-life

5. Varela: domestic first degree murder of girlfriend with knife. Convicted - 27 to life

6. Dixon: domestic violence 3 striker, GBI - 36 to life

7. Ortiz: domestic 3 striker, pregnant wife as victim - 26 to life

8. Olson: voluntary manslaughter, UCSB student victim, convicted all counts - 9 years

Assigned to Gangs and Three-Strikes Cases Many Dozen Jury Trials Covering all Criminal Case Levels Felony Trial Deputy + Head of Domestic Violence Unit. (1999-2002) Developed Policy Guidelines for Domestic Violence Filing and Prosecution Standards Gangs, Homicide, Three-Strikes, Robbery, Death Penalty Cases
