Yolanda Knaak's Political Positions Part II

By Yolanda Knaak

Candidate for Member, Republican Party Party County Central Committee; County of Sacramento; Supervisorial District 4

This information is provided by the candidate
  • I am Pro Life, one of my favorite groups is Silent No More, a group of women who share the truth about abortion, truth that you don't always hear. It includes the depression and pain that women go through after an abortion, sometimes they suffer for years before they find help.

  • I support Prop 8, marriage between a man and a woman.

  • Physician Assisted Suicide. The greatest risk will be those marginalized by society(the poor, the elderly, minorities) and those who are disabled. I've heard many testify that they were diagnosed as terminal or brain dead and now they are a productive part of society and they love being with their family. As a society we must take care not to devalue people's lives based on a subjective determination of quality of life. I believe that it would be far better to provide quality medical care for depression, and pain management, therefore I oppose physician assisted suicide.

  • Guns. I believe that law abiding citizens should be allowed to carry guns. I believe that if the pilots on 9/11 had guns, that thousands of lives would have been saved.

  • Stem Cell Research. I support adult stem cell research which includes umbilical chord stem cells. Unfortunately because of bad legislation the research money has been diverted to embryonic stem cell research which has never found any cures, not even for one disease. God Bless You and God Bless America
