Candidate for Director; Ross Valley Sanitary District

This information is provided by the candidate
20-year Ross Valley Resident, Registered Nurse with a Masters in Community Health, Current Member and Former Chair, Fairfax Planning Commission
I am a 20 year Ross Valley resident, and I am a registered nurse with over 25 years of experience. My experience includes being a current member and former chair of Planning Commission in the Town of Fairfax, a member of General Plan Advisory Committee for the Town of Fairfax, and co-creator and co-chair of the Town of Fairfax's Open Space Committee.

My passion to serve the community resonates with a utility philosophy, that philosophy emphasizes the greatest good for greatest number. While at the same time weighing out the individual needs of each community member. I firmly believe involving the community in the decision making process. I understand the critical importance of planning effectively and efficiently for a sustainable future and at the same time keeping business practices at a high standard.

The hallmark of my campaign will be protecting the health and safety of our community and environment in the Ross Valley Sanitary District. I am a health professional with over 25 years of experience as a registered nurse, I have been serving the town of Fairfax for the last 15 years as a member of the Planning Commission and as a member of the General Plan Advisory Committee. In that time I have had the pleasure with interacting with community members and staff to develop whats best for our community as a whole. I definitely feel I am capable and ready to lead. If elected, I will bring integrity, sound fiscal management, accountability, transparency, and I will make sure that we are serving the ratepayers as best as we possibly can.

I am committed to:

  • ensuring the health of our creeks, bay and environment by replacing Ross Valley's aging pipes, and preventing sewage overflows
  • implementing better government practices for the ratepayers through transparent government and sound fiscal management
  • improving the health and safety of Ross Valley residents while reducing the district's ecological footprint
  • finding creative ways to reduce the financial burden on ratepayers in tough economic times
