I remember being eight years old and the passion that my parents had for Adlai Stevenson. We were living in Los Angeles at the time and the Democrats bought their convention to town. My parents bought me to the convention and I was part of the gigantic demonstration for STEVENSON at the Convention. I remember being twenty years old and the passion that I had for Hubert Humphrey. I became a volunteer in the California Primary in 1972. I also ran as a delegate for HUMPHREY, but was not selected to go to Miami. After the election, I worked hard on my Bachelor of Arts degree in History. I always had a passion for the social studies and I subscribe to the "Great Men" theory of History. In my study of history, I found no man to be greater than Franklin Delano Roosevelt. I used my history degree to acquire a teaching credential and found employment with the Los Angeles Unified School District. I encourage my students to study hard not to get good grades, but to acquire the wisdom and understanding that knowledge will give them. If they can find enjoyment in the pursuit of knowledge, then the good grades are guaranteed. I was elected to the Los Angeles County Democratic Central Committee sometime during the Presidency of Bill Clinton. I have attended every California State Convention for at least the past twelve years. At the 2000 Convention, I was a floor whip for Al Gore. Flying to Sacramento and San Jose, gave me an obsession for UNITED and in 2004, I flew the friendly skies to Miami for John Kerry. Alas, United Air Lines flight rates were prohibitively high in 2008, so I flew on DELTA and AMERICAN AIRLINES for Hillary Clinton to New Hampshire, Nevada, Texas, North Carolina, Oregon, and South Dakota. In the fall campaign of 2008, I worked hard for Hannah Beth Jackson for the State Senate in Simi Valley. Experience with my students have taught me to be brief, otherwise they open up the airport and the paper airplanes start flying. Incidentally, in that connection, I warned them that they better put the words "UNITED" on those planes. So allow me to conclude by asking for your vote to allow me to continue to represent your interests on the Los Angeles County Democratic Central Committee.
