Dollars and Cents Reality

The fiscal crisis worsened by incompetent state government cannot be overlooked locally.
Seventy percent of MPCSD families have no children attending district schools. Foreclosures in district are rampant and one realtor website (Houlihan-Lawrence) list almost ninety residential properties for sale in the school district, almost none new construction. Our state governor and legislators are dysfunctional to the level of incompetence, past and presnt members are convicted criminals and yat the BOE still does not face the need for deep meaningful retrenchment of budgeting,Holding on tenaciously to a philosophy of "woom to graduation" ignorance of reality of the outside world. The economists say that the generation of today's adults will be the "best" in our history and life will get tougher in the future. Not so the cushioning BOE in Mount Pleasant. A sport(or two or three) for every student is not resonable and deferred dosing of reality is even less viable. I f students are not asked to take reponsibility for their own behavior and actions, then we all suffer.
