Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Nichelle A. Johnson

Candidate for
City Court Judge; City of Mount Vernon

This information is provided by the candidate

I decided to campaign for City Court Judge after working hard for the past 8 years as the Deputy Corporation Counsel and trial attorney for the City of Mount Vernon.

Some of you may be aware of my running in the Democratic Primary. After losing by a scant 2%, many community members encouraged me to continue the race not only because of my experience and qualifications, but because of my unwavering commitment to the law and to people, not to mention I was the only judicial candidate endorsed by other parties. I have been fortunate enough to have a broad range of people backing me, establishing that I am transcending political boundaries. At the end of the day the race for City Court Judge should really be about experience and qualifications, not political givebacks or entitlement.

Before practicing law fulltime I was an Analyst for 10 years with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York where I served with distinction and honor and received three prestigious President's Awards. During the years I have represented your best interests legally, I have been active and responsible for saving taxpayers millions of dollars. I ask that you take the time to review my credentials. You will find that I am the most accomplished attorney in this race and the only attorney who has courtroom and trial experience.

Although I am a Democrat, I have the support of the Independence and Conservative Parties because of my undeniable skills and abilities. The Republican Party has no candidate but I am confident I have support from that party as well. I have the right qualifications to make sure justice is administered not only in the manner you and your children expect, but deserve.
