Candidate for Board Member; Granada Sanitary District

4 Years - Granada Sanitary District - Current President. 8 Years Midcoast Community Council and Chair. 4 Years Board of Directors, Save our Shores.
Granada Sanitary District
· Current President
· Member for over 4 years
· Represented GSD on the Sewer Authority
Midcoastside (SAM) for over 4 years.
· Co-author of current Recycled Water Plan
· Championed the current "Wet Weather" project that
will protect out community from overflows and
expensive fines. Saved $500,000 on land purchase.

Midcoast Community Council - Advisory Council to the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors (representing 12,000 citizens in the unincorporated area of the county).

· One year as Chair of 7 Person Council, member for 8
years.
· 2 years as Chair of Planning and Zoning Committee,
6 years as member.
· 2 years as Chair of the Parks and Recreation
Committee.
· Instrumental in obtaining County commitment to a
new Local Coastal Plan review for our area and
ongoing support for the last 10 years of this
project
· Active in pressing for conformance to build-out
numbers.
· Active in preservation of water tables and creeks.
· Represented community members in front of SMC
Planning Commission and the Board of
Supervisors, working against non-conforming
projects.

Measure T - Tunnel alternative to CalTrans Coastal Freeway

· Active in victorious Campaign to put Measure on
County ballot.
· Continuing to work to press for completion of
construction.

Measure F - Bringing MidPeninsula Regional Open Space

District to Coastside.
· Active participant in campaign to help protect Open
Spaces and limit conversions of farms to housing
projects.
· Campaign was successful.

Measure D - Half Moon Bay 1% growth limit Initiative.

· Actively helped campaign.
· After victory, have fought for implementation.

Save Our Shores in Santa Cruz

· Former Member, Board of Directors
· Former Chair of 10-person Northern Advisory
Committee.
· Active in organizing Fund raising events and local
beach clean-ups.
· Led Creation of Coastal Water Quality lecture
series.

League for Coastside Protection (official PAC).

· One of founding members.
· Executive Committee member.
· Working specifically to elect officials who will
obey California Coastal laws and strengthen the
HMB and MidCoast Local Coastal Plans.

General Citizen Actions

· Member of Sierra Club
· Active editorial writer for local papers.
· Working with Peninsula Biking Groups to enhance
safety and limit destructive CalTrans projects.
· Member of Coastal e-mail groups discussing specific
Coastside development issues and projects.
