Where Teachers Educate Their Own Children
Teachers are the proverbial canary in the coal mine, exiting public education in higher percentages than the rest of the population. What do they know most of us don't?
Tenure, Seniority, and Pay
President Barack Obama and Arne Duncan, Secretary of Education, are now advocating changes in teacher tenure and pay to increase accountability and recognize classroom excellence. I addressed many of these issues four years ago, emphasizing current practices and polices damage both our children and the teaching profession.
April 2007 Report to the Board that saved taxpayers millions
Read my April 2007 report to the Board that led to the restructuring of our $298 million bond implementation to incorporate construction best practices and the fee schedule the State's Office of Public School Construction recommends. My recommendations were adopted, saving district taxpayers millions in unwarranted costs.
