Wanden Treanor was appointed to the College of Marin Board of Trustees in 1996 and has been serving the Marin Community College District since that time. She has served as President of the Board of Trustees in 2002, 2004 and 2007 and Wanden co-chaired the successful, 2004 College of Marin Measure C facilities bond campaign. Thanks to the voters support of Measure C, for the first time in forty years, College of Marin is able to construct new buildings and to modernize existing facilities and infrastructure that were in dire need of work.

Wanden is an attorney and mediator, who has been practicing law in San Rafael for over twenty four years. She is a frequent presenter at law seminars on topics related to the responsibilities of directors on a non profit board, fiduciary duties of board members, conflicts of interest and community problem-solving techniques. Prior to law school, Wanden was a community organizer as a Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA), working on self-help housing projects, farm worker co-ops and other low-income housing projects.

Wanden has spoken at a number of Community College League of California's statewide conferences, covering topics such as the role of the Board Chair, the relationship between the Board of Trustees and the Superintendent/President, as well as other topics addressing suggested `best practices' for California Community College Trustees.

Committed to giving back to the community where she grew up, Wanden has served on a number of boards of Marin community based organizations. In addition to being a Trustee of College of Marin, Wanden is currently the Chair of board of the Marin Education Fund, a member of the Advisory Committee on Education Services for the Community College League of California, and a member of the Novato Community Hospital Committee on Bioethics. She has provided leadership to a number of other organizations, including having served as president of the Marin County Bar Association, Marin Legal Aid and Planned Parenthood of Marin, Sonoma & Mendocino Counties. Wanden's work has also been recognized by both Congressional and California Legislative Honors for "Outstanding Community Service."
