Candidate for
Board of Directors; Pico Water District

This information is provided by the candidate

Dear Neighbors, As the current Pico Water District President and active board director for the past eight years, I am blessed and humbled that you have entrusted me with the safekeeping of our water district. Our precious water must be used wisely in order to maintain our quality of life and to ensure future supply for generations to come. In the past four years, we have made some great strides to build a solid infrastructure that addresses present and future needs. We have also taken proactive measures to secure a strong financial reserve, especially during the current economic crisis. With my twenty years in Management, I will continue to use my skills, experience and leadership abilities to deliver safe and clean drinking water to our community. In addition as an advocate of recycling and conservation, I will continue to look for ways to better use our precious resources without compromising quality. As your representative, I will continue to listen to your needs and concerns and act to further improve our district.

Over the past 4 years, the District and I have made some great progress by:

ľ Installing additional water main valves to reduce the number of customers out of service during emergencies. ľ Repairing and upgrading our existing wells to make them run more efficiently and reduce expenses. ľ Converted our disinfection system from gas chlorine to liquid chlorine (similar to what is used for swimming pools); this greatly protects the community at large. ľ Installed 500 new radio read meters to help reduce long-term expenses. ľ Installed a new radio read telemetry system for better monitoring of the District wells, booster pumps and reservoir. ľ I promoted the installation of equipment that will allow for emergency generators to startup automatically during an emergency. ľ Continues to work within a balanced budget and maintain a reserve fund for emergencies and unexpected problems.

I will also continue to fight for the ¡§protection and Interest¡¨ of the district and the right of its committed customers. As well as challenging, those who support water increases and promise to maintain low water rates. That is why I am asking for your support,

On November 3, please vote for Sal Orozco an experienced leader that cares for his community.

¡§Because it¡¦s not just water it¡¦s Life¡¨
