Candidate for
Board of Trustees; Palos Verdes Library District

As the current President of the Board of Trustees of the Palos Verdes Library District and as a candidate for re-election, I am proud that the Palos Verdes Library District delivers outstanding services to our community. These services

• encourage the love of reading in children;
• supplement formal education;
• support lifelong learning;
• create a community center; and
• preserve our local history.

Maintaining this high level of service is my main priority for the District. This year's fiscal challenges mandate a Board of Trustees with experience and with an understanding of the District's operations and budget.

The Board of Trustees has many tasks and goals to accomplish under the new Strategic Plan including developing a fundraising and a marketing plan for the District--work that just started this summer.

I ask for your vote on November 3, 2009 so that I can continue this very challenging work.
