My name is Gary Allison. My wife Susan and I are seven-year residents of Holiday Valley. I am a successful, long-term business owner. This November Holiday Valley Residents will have the opportunity to elect three new members to sit on the Board of Directors of the West Valley County Water District. I am running for one of those seats and I would like to earn your support.

To give you a bit of background, Martin Moss, my wife Susan and I were the only residents in attendance at the January WVCWD Board meeting when President John Gaglione ordered Holiday Lake dried up. I was compelled to prevent this from happening to our "Jewel in the Desert". Through hard work and determination, I succeeded in saving our lake. Additionally, I obtained an offer from the United States Fish and Wildlife Service for $25,000 in matching funds for solar power to pump water into the lake. This will significantly reduce operating costs and is good for the environment. During this process, it became apparent that the Water District has failed the residents of Holiday Valley on many levels. The overwhelming evidence of these failures set me on the path to where I stand today - at the ready and willing to serve, with our community's best interest in mind. With your support, Martin Moss, Buff Crossley, and I pledge to work alongside fellow board members to redirect our water district towards a positive and productive future.

The residents of Holiday Valley deserve a Board that will listen to the needs of the people and work together to bring a new sense of pride to our community. I pledge to assist in providing safe, quality water at reasonable rates, well-maintained roads and an enjoyable recreational facility. I will follow the guidelines set forth by the State of California, the EPA and the Bylaws of the District. I will cooperate with fellow board members to set a course toward a productive and healthy future. With the community's best interest in mind, I promise to work diligently to ensure our Water District is financially sound and ethically responsible. Embracing challenge, working hard and following through are not new to me.
