Born and raised in Humboldt County, Dan Johnson is the son of Don and Carolyn Johnson and grandson of Carl Johnson. Growing up in the midst of a bustling family business created a unique childhood for Dan. At age nine Dan's grandfather Carl gave him the opportunity to use his land to raise calves. Every morning before (6AM) and after school, Dan went to the farm to bottle feed the calves. By the time Dan was in high school he had a thriving business as well as a taste for hard work, innovation, and success.

After attending Shasta Community College, Dan decided Humboldt County was the place for him and business was the life. At age 21, he returned to Eureka and by 22 he had started his own construction company + Danco Builders. Now an Arcata resident, Dan has grown his company and added others in an attempt to offer a full range of services to his community. Included are commercial and residential construction, property management, affordable housing development, and assisted living management and development.

Married to Kendra Johnson for fifteen years, they have three children: Sydney, 14, Carter, 12, and Jayden, 9. Dan spends his time after work coaching youth sports teams.

To all who know Dan, the passion he has for his work is evident, but the passion he has for life and for family and friends, is clearly what motivates him.
